Coleman Trebor - Page 2

Unfortunately, Dooku was guarded by bounty hunter Jango Fett. Not more than three meters from Fett, Trebor was forced to deflect the lightning fast shots from Fett's sidearm. Coleman was able to deflect the first few shots, but at such close range the shots came too fast even for the Jedi Master. Hitting Coleman in the chest a number of times, Jango pushed him back and over the ledge of the balcony where Coleman fell to his death and became one with the Force. Unfortunately Coleman's death was just a hint at the darkness that was to befall the galaxy.

Before his death, Coleman made the HoloNet News Network during the highly publicized story of the debate over a baby adopted by the Jedi Order whose mother turned up and suddenly wanted custody of her daughter. The dilemma began when the baby, named Aris-Del Wari by the Jedi Knights and Ludi Billane by her mother, was found in the ruined capital city of Domitree on Ord Thoden, destroyed by a massive earthquake. The child was found by Jedi rescue workers and was discovered to have Force-potential.

The usual proceedings for an adoption by the Order would have required parental consent before the adoption could take place. However, since both of the child's parents were presumed dead, no consent was given before the Jedi formally adopted her. However, the child's mother did survive, and her search for her child eventually led to Coruscant. There she requested that her child be turned back over to her, seeing as she was not dead after all.

However, the Jedi felt that returning the child back to her mother after exposing her to the workings of the Force would be dangerous. Jonava Billane, the child's mother, gained a strong following including the support of The People's Inquest, a Jedi watch-group, and even petitioned the Jedi Council, an act which made all the popular headlines. However, the resolution of the dilemma fell to the Republic Judiciary, and with no precedent set, officials struggled to find an answer. Coleman Trebor, in an unusual move for the Jedi, who were usually silent on news issues, was chosen to issue a statement regarding the situation, and expressed the Jedi Order's opinion of the dangers of returning the child to its mother.
